Local estates judging for Tidy Towns awards

Residents’ groups are to be asked to outline what work they have done in their areas to facilitate judging for the local Tidy Towns Awards, writes Brian Byrne.

The suggestion was agreed at Tuesday night’s meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, where Noel Clare noted that improvement works in estates might not always be obvious to the Tidy Towns local judging panel on their visits.

Ray Kelly said he would update the contacts list for residents’ associations and groups and they would be asked for the relevant details.

A Review Group was also proposed to manage the annual Community Awards. A number of people outside the KCA/Tidy Towns organisation are to be invited to be part of the group, which will also be able to propose nominations for the Awards.

Nominations are now open at kilcullencommunityaction@gmail.com, and can be made by any group or individual.
