Kilcullen Badminton update

There are five matches to report on this week starting with the so far undefeated Division 5 mens team that is captained by Sean. In their first two matches the lads had secured one win and one draw in both away fixtures to rathmore and Clane, Friday the 27 of November saw the KBC side host Knocklyons mens in the complex.

After a slow start with the lads losing their fisrt game, Enda and sub Alan managed to win their game in a three setter leaving the game 1-1 with 2 to play. Knocklyon managed to take the third game off Enda and John in a tight three setter with that third set going to a tie break. KBC weren’t going to be defeated on this night and super sub Alan and captain Sean took the fourth game comfortably giving the lads a well earned draw. Well Done to Sean, John, Enda and Alan.

Bernie's Division 3 Dublin District Ladies were also at home on the same night with their opponents being Boyle of Meath. In this close encounter the Ragettes were on the receiving end of a 4-0 defeat which in fairness didn’t reflect the closeness of the games. Every game went to three sets and this match really could have been a 4-0 to KBC as easily. Hard Luck to Bernie, Sinead, Catherine and Chelsey.

Chelsey and her Division 4 DDL Mix team visited Knocklyon. In a tough hall Chelsey, Bernie, Vincent and Martin got a well deserved 2-2 draw. This draw adds to the victory they had against Rathfarmham two weeks ago and puts them top of the table at this early stage of the league. Well done Chelsey and the gang.

Thursday 3 December Vincent and the Division 4 DDL men's team wanted to kick start to the league after two defeats. The Rags visited a competitive Pembroke side, Vincent and the team got a welcome boost with the return from injury of superstar Michael Cass. In another tough match the lads came awawy with a 2-2 draw. Well done Vincent, Michael, Martin and Owen.
