Important CPC cyber lecture for parents tonight

An important presentation on social network sites, online chatting, cyber bullying, mobile phone safety and internet safety will take place in CPC tonight Tuesday 13 October, writes Noel Clare.

Beginning at 7.30pm, the presentation by psychologist Dr Maureen Griffin will be of interest to any parent whose son or daughter uses a smart phone, has a tablet device, plays games on line or has any other form of access to the internet. Such parents should seriously consider attending this meeting. Dr Griffin has given talks to parents in over 500 primary and secondary school around the country.

Parents of young people of all ages are welcome to attend the meeting (even if they are not attending Cross and Passion College).

Dr Griffin lectures in the areas of abnormal psychology, mental health and crime, sexual offenders, online internet solicitation and risk assessment on Forensic Psychology, Criminal Behaviour & Criminalistics courses in Universities across Ireland.

She has also delivered lectures on Detective and Sergeant Training Courses in An Garda Síochána and has delivered guest lectures to the Irish Navy and Military Police with the Irish Defence Forces.
