Text Alert warning on credit card scam

A warning about a phone credit card scam has been issued by the Kilcullen Garda District Text Alert.

It's about a caller purporting to be a Garda and asking for the person phoned's credit card details 'to help an investigation'.

An Garda very strenuously emphasise that they would never make such a request, and repeat their regular warnings that nobody should give their credit card details to a phone caller.

Any instances of this should be immediately reported to the local gardai.
