Josie's street collection for St Vincent's today

Josie and friends on last year's walk.

A reminder that the seventh annual Street Bucket Collection organised by Josie Connolly and Friends for St Vincent's Hospital in Athy will take place this weekend, writes Helen Dreelan, Director of Nursing at St Vincent's.

The street collection is today, Saturday, and the walk associated with the event is taking on Wednesday evening (ED: not tomorrow as previously stated, because Helen is from Kilkenny, and there's some kind of match on tomorrow).

The event is in aid of the Patient Comfort Fund of the Hospital, which provides Day Care, Respite Care, Dementia Specific Care, Level 2 Palliative Care and Continuing Care to 112 patients and residents from Co Kildare, several of whom are from the Kilcullen area.

The Patient Comfort Fund supports several therapeutic activities for patients and residents which they could not otherwise enjoy, including arts and crafts, mobile music, movie and book library, parties, singsongs, and attending concerts races and other outings. It funds the Christmas party and gifts for all the patients, the gardening poly tunnel including plants and seeds etc.

The Patient Comfort Fund is also funding the residents’ garden party for their families and friends which takes place on Sunday August 2nd. Please support Josie's endeavours for us, in the same generous way Kilcullen has done for the last six years.
