Community Games Art & Handwriting

The Community Games Art and Handwriting competition was recently held in Scoil Bhride, writes Papillon Rabbitte.

There was a fantastic turnout on the night with over 120 children participating in the event.

The judges had a tough task in choosing the winners but after much deliberation the medal winners were as follows:

ART

The Brenda Scullion Memorial Trophy has been awarded to Leon Cullen this year.

All the Art winners go through to the County Final which is being held in the Patrician Primary School on March 22nd.

The Handwriting winners go through to the County Final of this event which is being held in Athgarvan National School on April 24th.

Many thanks to Noel Scullion and Edel O'Neill for giving up their time to judge the competitions, and to Anne Flanagan for the use of Scoil Bhride. Most importantly, a huge thanks to all the participants, who, along with their parents/guardians made this a most successful night.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Projects 12th March: This is facilitated through the local schools; Kilcullen, Halverstown, Ballyshannon and Brannoxstown with judging taking place in Scoil Bhride on the evening of the 12th March.
