Cara Luft in the BAG ... and more

The BAG is backI'm back, following my recent nuptials, and so are the gigs, writes Roy Thompson of the Ballymore Acoustic Gigs. Some cracking gigs over the coming weeks before we take our second summer break — the usual second half of July, and August.

Short notice, I know, but before that we have a cracking act tomorrow night to get us back into the swing of it — Cara Luft, from Canada, was a founding member of rocked-out country folk outfit, 'The Wailin' Jennys'. Come on out to Mick Murphy's, Ballymore Eustace, tomorrow evening for a 9pm showtime. You'll be very glad you did!

More details on the coming weeks' acts will follow, but here's the list:

Monday June 17 - Pete Cummins, (IRL) (Solo) with special guest Kevin Conneff. This will be a cracker, and no mistake!

Monday June 24 - Matt Andersen (CAN) Solo Bluesman - simply superb - blew the place apart last time. Not to be missed.

Monday July 1 - was to be Maria Doyle Kennedy - this show has to be rescheduled for later in the year due to filming committments; I'm working on a replacement booking, and will keep you posted.

Monday July 8 - Gary Ferguson & Kathy Barwick - Bluegrass/roots/americana/old timey. Wonderful.

Summer Break until Monday September 2 when we'll kick off again with the great Freddie White.

Sin é, for now; see ye in Mick's!
