KCA gets €2,300 in KCC grants

Kilcullen Community Action has been granted €1,500 towards the planned Biodiversity Survey of the Liffey area, writes Brian Byrne, which it is hoped will lead to a fully-signed nature trail all the way from the Bridge Camphill campus to New Abbey.

The grant was approved yesterday by Kildare County Council under the Community & Residential Grants scheme, and has been welcomed by local FG councillor Ivan Keatley.

KCA was also granted €800 towards the cost of the Summer Flowers project.

Other amounts have been awarded to the various residential and arts groups in Kilcullen.

Cllr Keatley said the grants recognise the important role of all of the volunteering organisations within the town and the value for money their work represents. "If next year's projects are half as successful as the lowering of the convent wall, we have much to look forward to," he added.
